Rutland Water is Europe’s largest man made reservoir and attaches thousands of visitors a year. Popular sites and activities include bird watching, its breeding Osprey residence, fishing and its plentiful water sports facilities. I have nearly 30 years experience in Hotel & Restaurant Industry and have worked all around the world. My experience includes over 10 years in Europe, 10 years as Restaurant Manager for Carnival Cruise Lines in USA, Mexico and the Caribbean and the last several years i’ve been based here in the UK.
In 2009 I set up and opened a new Restaurant in Dubai for a large Italian restaurant chain I was working for, after this success I decided it was time to realise my dream and open my own Restaurant – which I then did in 2010. I called it L’Oliveto, meaning the Olive Tree, in memory of our family farm in Sicily where we produce Olive Oil.
My Love of good food was inspired by the many happy hours spent in my grandmothers kitchen watching, smelling, tasting and eating the wonderful food she made from produce on the farm. I wanted to combine her fantastic wholesome, tasty, rustic recipes with the style, presentation and innovation of contemporary Italian cuisine.
At L’Oliveto we have achieved this, and for 3 years we have been giving customers the authentic traditional tastes with a fine dining experience and ambience.
